Strathaven Fairtrade Events
Strathaven Fairtrade Group works closely with the community to promote Fairtrade principles and products. We do this by organising and participating in local events.

- COME and CELEBRATE with us "One World Week" on Saturday 24th October at Strathaven Academy - 10 am -12 noon -FREE ENTRANCE
Fairtrade stalls including Traidcraft and Hadeel - Music workshops - West African drumming - Art displays and more..
Below is a list of our latest events:
- Sunday 30th August at the Open Day in Strathaven Airfield - A Fairtrade stall was set giving visitors and pilots our own tea, coffee and sweets
- Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August at the Balloon Festival - A Fairtrade stall provided visitors with fair trade refreshments
- Gala day on 13th June was a great success. The sun came out and a good time was had by all
- Fairtrade Fortnight was again a success with our local school's poster competition and T-shirt design competition by Strathaven Academy pupils.
- On March we had a visit From Cornelius Lynch a banana farmer from St Lucia who visited Kirkland Park Primary and enjoyed the sight of snow for the first time with us in Strathaven.
- On January the Founder of the first Fairtrade town in the world, Bruce Crowther, came to Strathaven and visited Sandford , St Patrick's and Chapelton primary schools.
